Take a portrait is a face-to-face encounter, a complicity, a confrontation, a struggle, between two singular beings. It is a moment chosen from an eternally moving reality, a tiny piece of time. This meeting, this exchange between the one who asks and the one who accepts is a face-to-face meeting of the curious, a dialogue and a kidnapping! Some traditional populations refuse to let themselves be "photographed", considering that they would lose part of their soul. Is a portrait a flash of soul? What do we see in it? A physical characteristic? a character? a personality? A fleeting, unique, lost moment forever?
